How to Showcase Your Therapy Space Effectively
Creating an inviting, calm online presence starts with showing potential clients exactly where they’ll spend their time with you. For many, just seeing the space can ease some of the first-session jitters.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how Yellow Leaf Therapy and I worked together to highlight their space in a way that feels welcoming, reassuring, and familiar.
1. Show the Waiting Room with a Focus on Privacy
Start with a photo of your waiting room to give clients a sense of where they’ll arrive. If it’s a private, tucked-away space, emphasize this in your captions to ease their concerns about privacy. Clients with anxiety, especially, benefit from knowing exactly what to expect, so they can feel reassured and prepared.
In my collaboration with Yellow Leaf Therapy, we created a dedicated page that highlights their beautiful, private waiting area, helping clients feel prepared and supported from the moment they arrive.
2. Show the Actual Rooms Where Therapy Happens
Clients want to visualize where they’ll be sitting and spending time, so be sure to include clear photos of the specific rooms you work in. This step helps reduce the unknowns, showing clients a calm, welcoming environment that feels familiar, not intimidating. Using actual images (not stock) also prevents any misunderstandings or disappointment about what the space will actually look like.
In Yellow Leaf Therapy’s case, we used well-lit photos of their therapy rooms, capturing the calm and open atmosphere they’ve designed to help clients feel secure.

Tip: Take photos during the day to capture natural light and any features—like windows or soft lighting—that create a comforting atmosphere.
3. Take High-Quality Photos That Capture the Details
Whether you’re working with a professional or using your phone, make sure your photos are well-lit and clear. High-quality images allow clients to see every element in your space that’s been designed with care. When clients know what to expect, it can help reduce anxiety and create a sense of calm before they even arrive.
In my work with Yellow Leaf Therapy, I advocated for including photos like this one directly on the site, allowing potential clients to see the thoughtful, serene design that defines the space. Every detail, from the cozy textures to the soothing decor, is chosen to create a sense of calm and comfort—giving clients a preview of the welcoming environment they’ll step into.

5. Emphasize Privacy in Each Space
From the waiting room to the therapy rooms, use captions to emphasize the privacy of each space. This can be as simple as a caption that says, “A private, quiet room where you can feel safe to share and be heard.” This clarity can help ease clients’ anxiety about their confidentiality and privacy, both of which are key to feeling safe.
By following these steps, you can create a website that not only showcases your space but also builds trust, reduces anxiety, and invites clients to feel welcomed and supported.
